I have a bike trainer tire question. I will be riding my mountain bike on a new trainer that I just bought (Bell Mag) and would like to know if I should replace the rear tire?
I'll make this answer quick. Yes, you should change out your rear tire while riding it on the magnetic trainer. Good choice in a bike trainer by the way. Here's the deal. You could choose to not change your rear tire and ride the bike "as is" on your trainer. What will happen though is that you will wear out that rear tire and beyond that, your mag trainer will vibrate and sound like a jet airplane. So, do yourself a favor and get a rear tire (the correct size for your rim) as close to a slick as possible. This will give you the smoothest ride, with the least amount of noise for your Bell magnetic trainer.
