What Is A Riser Block For Indoor Bicycle Trainers?
When I started riding my first indoor bicycle trainer, after a while I notice that I seemed to be pointing a little bit downhill. Beyond that, my wrists were starting to bother me a bit. I guess I wasn't bright enough to figure out what was wrong until I watched my roommate using the same trainer. Without a doubt, the bike was not level. So, I had to figure out what to do about it.
Telephone book. Yeah, a telephone book did the trick. It leveled me out and allowed me to not put pressure on my wrists while riding the indoor bike trainer. The only issue that I ever had with the phone book was that if I really decided to "get on it" the front tire would slide on the slippery cover. Years later, manufacturers decided to come up with something called a riser block (why didn't I think of that?). So now we've got the choice of several different types of riser blocks which means no more telephone books needed.
